US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services.

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) is the primary source of Federal support for research on problems related to the quality and delivery of health services.

Cancer Information Service, National Cancer Institute (CIS) is a national resource for information and education about cancer.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) collaborates to create the expertise, information, and tools that people and communities need to protect their health - through health promotion, prevention of disease, injury and disability, and preparedness for new health threats.

The Center for Consumer Information and Insurance Oversight (CCIIO) is charged with helping implement many provisions of the Affordable Care Act and oversees the implementation of the provisions related to private health insurance.

National Health Information Center (NHIC) is a health information referral service. NHIC puts health professionals and consumers who have health questions in touch with those organizations that are best able to provide answers.

National Institutes of Health (NIH) uncovers new knowledge that will lead to better health for everyone. NIH provides leadership and direction to programs designed to improve the health of the Nation by supporting research.

Policy Information Center (PIC) is the repository of evaluations and short-term evaluative research and policy-oriented projects conducted by Health and Human Services (HHS).
