The goal of this webinar series is to develop effective, innovative ways of raising awareness of the importance of understanding the impact of financial toxicity on health care and assisting patients, caregivers and providers with developing the knowledge and skills to facilitate these important discussions.
The first webinar of our series entitled Understand Cost of Care and Financial Toxicity features Yousuf Zafar, MD, professor of medicine for Duke Global Health Institute, and Susan Brown, patient advocate for the National Patient Advocate Foundation, and will include materials drawn from patient/caregiver stories.

The second webinar of our series entitled Patient and Caregiver Roles in Cost of Care Discussions features Rebecca Barnes, patient advocate for the National Patient Advocate Foundation and Michael Reese Wittke, Director of Advocacy for the National Alliance for Caregiving (NAC). Attendees of this webinar can expect to discuss caregiver perspectives around engaging in cost of care discussions with their providers, barriers and their impact on relationships between caregivers and families, as well as challenges faced in navigating the intersection of direct patient services and system change.
